Our management team combines decades of experience in strata administration, real estate, finance and business administration, law, and human resources management.

Jane Thorne - President & Chief Executive Officer

Jane Thorne has over 30 years of experience in the real estate and property management industry. Jane holds the designation of a Certified General Accountant and is licensed under the Real Estate Services Act of British Columbia. She serves in the Strata Management Advisory Committee for the Real Estate Council of British Columbia and previously served as the Vice President of the Board with the British Columbia Apartment Owners and Managers Association and the Education Chair of the Strata Property Agents of British Columbia.

 

 
 

Les Porter - Executive Vice President

Les Porter has over 32 years of experience in the property management and development. Les is responsible for all marketing and operational aspects of the company. He is licensed under the Real Estate Services Act of British Columbia and previously served as a member of the Education Committee with the Urban Development Institute.

Wendy Shum - Chief Financial Officer

Wendy Shum has over 15 years of experience in the property management and public practice industry. Wendy is responsible for overseeing the financial aspects and the business and technological systems of the company as well as all aspects of the accounting and administrative department. She holds the designation of a Certified General Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.

Ken Drebit - Vice President, Strata Management

Ken Drebit has over 20 years of local experience in real estate sales and property management. He is responsible for the company's Strata Operations. Ken is licensed under the Real Estate Services Act of British Columbia as Managing Broker in Trading, Rental, and Strata Management.


Gerry Fanaken

Gerry Fanaken founded VCS in 1980, and has owned and lived in a condominium since 1974. Mr. Fanaken started the Strata Plan Home Owners' Association (now known as C.H.O.A.), has been a consultant to the Provincial Government on many condominium issues and relevant strata corporation legislation over the years, has lectured on condominium issues, and is the author of several books on strata corporation administration. Mr. Fanaken has been appointed many time by the Supreme Court of British Columbia to be an Administrator for troubled strata corporations.

Linda Van Os

Linda Van Os has been with VCS since 1987 and has held a wide variety of administrative positions before joining the company. Mrs. Van Os' broad background and extensive experience at the company enables her to coordinate virtually all aspects of the corporate structure of VCS, including Human Resources, as well as clients requirements.

Jane Teghararian

Mrs. Teghararian is a Certified General Accountant and has the important role of administering the accounting department. Mrs. Teghararian exercises the necessary controls and checks on all client funds, oversees the day-to-day workflow in the accounting department, and oversees a staff of eleven accounting clerks. As A CGA, Mrs. Teghararian is qualified to professionally advise our strata property agents and our clients in all technical accounting matters. The combined budgets of VCS clients exceeds $47 million per annum and over $24 million is held in investment portfolios.

Stacie Derby

Mrs. Derby has been with VCS since 1989. Since that time she has worked in almost all administrative capacities within VCS, and as an assistant strata agent. Mrs. Derby is currently responsible for general office operations and supervision of administrative staff. She also handles all administrative matters related to integrating new strata corporation clients into our systems and procedures, and oversees matters related to our insurance portfolio.

Sean Cornish

Sean Cornish joined VCS as a strata agent in 2003, assuming the role of Vice President in February, 2007 and Regional Director in 2011. With Tanya Millage, Sean supervises and directs the day to day activities of approximately 20 strata agents.

Tanya Millage

Tanya Millage joined VCS in 2011 in the role of Regional Director. Tanya has over 12 years of experience as a Strata Manager, and General Manager of a large management company. Tanya now co-manages the day to day operations of approximately 20 Strata Agents.

Ed Janzen

Mr. Janzen comes to us with extensive public practice and financial administrative experience having run his own CGA firm for 14 years. The diversity of his clientele and his various areas of expertise led to his teaching professional development seminars including several components of the PRO Series, a prerequisite to operating a CGA firm in BC. Ed is responsible for overseeing and developing the various accounting and information systems of VCS from the accounting department right through to the management and strata agent level.
